  I'm 65 and have eaten a lot of barbeque all over the country. My favorite is the brisket from Colter's in Texas. I would compare it with the Yolo Club in West Sacramento, during it's heyday, in quality. When I saw this place, I stopped by and talked to the owners. They had been open for a couple of month's in their El Dorado Hills location and were very friendly. I went home and told my wife about this place as she's from Texas and knows good barbeque, too. Well, last night we finally got around to trying it. They have a open bun sandwich with meat of your choice for $7. My wife asked for a brisket sandwich and the guy told her the steak was just like brisket, and a side of macaroni salad. We were both so disappointed, my wife fed the meat to our four dogs and threw out the rest. It was London Broil cut way too thick. It was not slow cooked in a smoker, it appeared to have been boiled with the addition of some sauce after cooking. There was no smoke ring and it was cut into about one half inch wide strips. The meat was gray and really tough. The sauce was good. But, it wasn't great. You could buy it off the shelf at any grocery store, I'm sure and thin it down with some water. The bun was about 5-6 inches and shriveled from being in a steamer. The 'macaroni salad' was horrible. Overcooked macaroni with what appeared to be dry rub as the main ingredient. I took a half a bite and that was it. This place is to barbeque what Taco Bell is to real Mexican food. Their prices are insanely ridiculous and we will never be back. This place is for white people, with money, who don't know what barbeque is. I guess that's why they opened in E.D.H. and Folsom. LOL! Do yourself a favor and go to Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Folsom or E.D.H. instead. It may be a chain, but at least it's real barbecue with an onsite smoker. I doubt these guys have a smoker at either location.
